MORGAN Planning & Development acted as both planning consultant and project manager in support of three successful Minor Variance applications approved by the City of Barrie. The approvals permit the development of three five-storey walk-up apartment buildings, each consisting of 20 purpose-built rental units. Notably, each building includes a commitment to provide 20% affordable housing, contributing to the City’s housing supply and affordability objectives. The applications required relief from several provisions of the City of Barrie Zoning By-law, with planning justification and project coordination managed throughout the approval process. The project was led by Senior Planner James Hunter, BURPL.
